Results of September

Autumn migration starts here in August. For local breeders often hard to divide after breeding movings and beginning of migration. By catches we could see period of activity for some birds. Most of Radde's Warblers were caught in the period 31 August - 13 September, Palla's Warblers - 9 - 26 September and for these species we can be sure that this is real migration time.

Non migrants are also increase their activity in Autumn looking for food and good weather. September was the best Month for ringing Great Tits (94 ind.) and on the second place after April - for ringing Long-tailed (81 ind.) and Willow Tits (56 ind.), numbers given for both ringing points.

New point in Tankhoy had been working 29 August - 26 September. The most interesting results is that we ringed 289 Siberian Rubythroats (174 for the whole 2016 y. on the ringing station), 130 Little Buntings (13 in August-September on the station) and 111 Black-faced Buntings (47 in August-September on the station). Total birds number ringed in Tankhoy - 1310 ind. On the next year we want to ring there in May and in September and this is strongly depends on the presence of experienced in ringing volunteers in our team during these months.

On the station in September we ringed 779 birds of 43 species.
